Obituary for Sandra A. Humphrey
Sandra Alice Humphrey, 61, passed away at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on February 7, 2019. She was the wife of 44 years of George A. Humphrey, Jr.
Sandy was born on February 19, 1957 daughter of the late Sidney and Emma (Busse) Rarick. Sandy was a founding member of the Morris Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and later became a member of the Fire Department as an EMT. She also served as a past president.
She worked at Poppy’s Ice Cream Shop for many years. She loved boating, fishing, Cape Cod and her pets.
In addition to her husband, George, Sandra was the loving mother of George A. Humphrey, III and his wife, Jill. She is also survived by a sister, Diane Freer (Ben Szmajlo), a sister-in-law, Carol Evans and her husband Lew, two nieces, Doreen Kingston and her husband Rusty, Darlene Sawyer and her husband Ed, two great nieces, Ashlyn Perry and Lindsay Sawyer.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. At Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
