Torrington – Tullio J. Berti Jr. (TJ), 48, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2019. He had fought a courageous battle with metastatic bladder cancer. TJ had a kind, thoughtful, loving spirit that will live on in all who knew him. TJ had worked at EBMpapst in Farmington for the past 19 years as a Welding/Production Supervisor. TJ knew how to enjoy life. He had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, flying RC planes, running RC cars, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, dirt bike riding, go-karting, shooting, playing darts and playing softball. He loved the outdoors. He even enjoyed work and keeping up the lawn, working on vehicles; he put a lot of care into everything he did.

TJ leaves behind his wife Christi (Winegar) Berti, two brothers; Daniel Berti and his wife Stephanie, David Berti and his wife Barbara, Sister-in-Law Heather Berti, Brothers-in-Law; Robert Winegar, David Fenn and Russell Fenn, Nieces and Nephews; Courtney Berti, Christian Berti, Hunter Berti, Camryn Berti, Alex Berti, Benjamin Fenn, Ian Fenn and Hannah Fenn. He also leaves behind many loving cousins, aunts and uncles, along with many friends who to him were extended family. TJ cared deeply about everyone he knew. To have known him is a gift.

TJ is being welcomed into the loving arms of his parents Bessie Berti and Tullio Berti Sr., along with caring family and friends who have gone before him and are waiting to reunite with him.

His journey was full of caring Doctors and medical teams. He received great care at Smilow of Torrington, CHH Urology, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, St. Raphael’s of Yale, Hospital for Special Care, Yale and Vitas.

A gathering in remembrance of TJ will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 14, at The Knights of Columbus, 152 Litchfield Street, Torrington.
